ORIX Corporation and Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Service Limited (IL&FS) have announced that they will expand their wind energy portfolio in India with 1,004MW.
ORIX has already invested in 49% of the equity of the wind portfolio of IL&FS, of which 775MW is already operational, and the rest is under construction. In total 26 new wind farm will be built in seven states. The generated power will be mainly sold to state power companies under the feed-in tariff scheme as well as to commercial-scale utility customers.
