Uruguay-based Ventus Ingenieria has signed an agreement with EMD International to work together on establishing a calibrated wind modelling concept and map for the region of Uruguay and adjacent areas in Southern Brazil and Northern Argentina.
The modelling concept will be validated using wind measurement data and operational production data provided by Ventus. The new wind modelling concept will also be validated in a setup based on short term LIDAR measurements. The calibrated mesoscale data set for the region and the modelling concept is expected to become available in the windPRO software in 2016/17.
