Nineteen wind energy projects have won contracts during the latest renewable energy auction in Brazil's.

The country awarded contracts for a total capacity of 669.5MW, of which 538.8MW went to wind developers. The wind farms are expected to begin producing power by 1 January 2018. All of the contracts included a 20-year power purchase agreement and the electricity is sold for BRL 181.14/MWh.
