Brazil will hold an energy auction to award long-term power purchase agreements to proposed wind and solar projects in November.
Developers have registered a total of 1,379 projects with a total capacity of 38.9 gigawatts in the auction. Of that total, 730 are for wind farms with a combined capacity of 17.9GW, according to Brazilian energy research firm Empresa de Pesquisa Energetica.
