WEG worked with Pontis on the introduction of its first 2.1MW wind turbine and last month the blade test program for the corresponding rotor blades was successfully concluded.
The blade tests were performed by Fraunhofer. The rotor blade is developedn in cooperation with WEG, NPS, WINDnovation, Aeris and Pontis. Pontis’s role is to support WEG in supply chain management and cost reduction projects. Besides that Pontis trains the WEG engineering team in blade production, inspection work, field issues and special non-conformities. Certification of the rotor blade is expected in June this year.
