Suzlon has announced the commissioning of the Rouar S A’s wind energy farm at Artilleros with a capacity of 65.1MW.
The Wind Farm is located 170 kilometres east of Montevideo and was inaugurated by the President of Brazil, Ms. Dilma Rousseff and President of Uruguay, Mr. Jose Mujica. This is the first joint venture between Brazil and Uruguay to harness wind energy. Suzlon was responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and and also signed a life-time service agreement for the wind farm. The wind farm is located on state-owned land near Tarariras city in Uruguay's Colonia province and consists of 31 S95-90 turbines with a rated capacity of 2.1MW each.
