Suzlon Energy has announced plans to set up a manufacturing unit in the state of Madhya Pradesh.

The company intends to invest Rs 15,000 crore (US$ 2.5 billion) to develop 2,000MW of wind energy capacity in the state. The company has a portfolio of 8,500MW of the total 21,700MW wind energy capacity installed in India. Madhya Pradesh is home to about half of the company’s total installed capacity. The company is also planning to set up a 300 MW offshore wind energy project off the coast of Gujarat.
