GE has announced orders in several European countries for 212,6MW. GE has announced 110MW of orders in Germany.
It will supply a total of 44 GE 2.5-120 wind turbines for eight new German wind farms. GE will provide the wind turbines to Juwi, Pfalzwerke, Max Bögl Wiesner and Abo-Wind. The majority of the orders are for framework agreements with Juwi and Pfalzwerke in southern Germany, with the first project, located at Juwi’s Rehborn wind farm, currently under construction. A large majority of the orders include long-term full service agreements. Further GE will provide Erikshester Vindpark AB (Erikshester Wind Farm), located in Vetlanda, Sweden, with six GE 1.6-100 wind turbines. Once operational, the Erikshester Wind Farm will produce 9.6MW. The wind farm is owned by Eksjö Energi AB and 11 other shareholders. VETAB is the majority shareholder and also is owned by the municipality. Under a five-year service agreement, the facility also will benefit from around-the-clock remote monitoring and diagnostics through GE’s global wind monitoring center in Salzbergen, Germany. GE also announced that it will supply SSE Renewables with 10 GE-1.6MW wind turbines for the Langhope Rig Wind Farm in Scotland. It is located on the Scottish Borders, approximately 5 kilometers west of Ashkirk, and 4 kilometers southeast of Ettrickbridge. Langhope Rig Wind Farm has a hub height restriction of 82.5 meters and a blade length restriction of 40.2 meters. GE’s 1.6-82.5 wind turbines, which have a hub height of 82.5 meters, will be used at the site. GE also will provide operations and maintenance for the wind farm working in conjunction with SSE under their long-term, strategic fleet management arrangements. Finally GE will supply 27 2.85MW wind turbines and related services for several wind farm projects in northern France. The projects are each owned and built by French developers Boralex, InnoVent and a Belgic company. Slated for installation in three villages in Picardy (Andechy, Goyencourt and Villers-lès-Roye), about 100 kilometers north of Paris, the Roye projects will include 16 GE 2.85-103 wind turbines. The new Roye projects are located near the existing Laucort and Beuvraignes wind farm built by other developers but also powered by GE wind turbines. For the Fortel projects, GE will install 11 of the same turbines in the village of Fortel-en-Artois, in Nord Pas-de-Calais in northern France. The contracts include wind turbine manufacturing, shipment, installation and a five-year service agreement.
