Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and GE have agreed to settle their US patent infringement dispute over wind-turbine technology by allowing each other to cross-license their products.

In 2008 GE filed a complaint with the US International Trade Commission alleging that Mitsubishi’s 2.4MW turbines infringe its patents. GE filed one suit with a district court in Texas in 2009, and a second in 2010. MHI countersued the same year in Florida and Arkansas courts. The companies agreed not to disclose details of this settlement.
