CEO Bill Moore from Deepwater Wind believes it will secure funding next year for a us$300 million demonstration wind project in the waters off Rhode Island.

The 30MW project will require between US$ 210 million and US$ 215 million for five Siemens 6MW turbines, and about US$ 85 million for a submarine cable connecting the turbines to the mainland. Moore hopes to secure all the permits in the first quarter of 2013, as plans call for construction to begin sometime between 2014 and 2015.
