The Front Cover

Originally, rotor blade inspections were mostly performed using a cherry picker, a service platform or a hydraulic crane; today, the most common way of performing these inspections effectively seems to be by rope descent (abseiling). Availon recently developed a drone for the inspection of rotor blades. The image on the cover shows the drone in action. On page 6 you can find the full article about this development.
