Suzlon announces its entrance into the Australian market with a contract to design, procure, construct and commission a wind farm consisting of 45 units of the S88 – 2.1 MW wind turbine by Suzlon Energy Australia Pty. Ltd. (SEA).
Suzlon received a notice to proceed under its contract with AGL (Australian Gas Light Company), for 95 megawatts of wind turbine capacity to be installed in rural South Australia, and the wind farm to become operational during 2007. The facility, which will be located at Hallett, 220 kilometers north of Adelaide, will be largest wind farm in Australia once complete.
