Belwind, part of the Econcern group, plans to build an offshore wind farm on Bligh Bank, 46 kilometres from the Belgian port of Oostende.

With 66 five-megawatt wind turbines, the project represents an investment of € 800 million. Belwind's application for a concession to build a wind farm on Bligh Bank was submitted in April 2006. The turbines will be placed on the shoal, where the sea reaches depths of 20-35 metres.
