Oriel Windfarm Limited is planning to develop an € 85 million wind farm off the coast of County Louth.
The Clogherhead wind farm will have the potential to supply energy to customers in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, and its first phase is expected to be completed by 2009. The wind farm will be able to produce 250MW of electricity. Oriel Windfarm Limited has received a foreshore licence from the Department of Marine and Natural Resources to allow its investigation of the suitability of the site to go ahead.
