Gamesa Energy China, a Gamesa subsidiary, has signed an agreement with the Shandong provincial government for the implementation of wind energy development plans, which include the design, construction and commissioning of several wind farms with an overall estimated power of 250MW in this province.

With an initial investment of € 280 million, this agreement constitutes the largest engagement attained so far by the Gamesa Group within the sphere of wind farm development in China. The wind turbines are to be supplied from the factory Gamesa has recently inaugurated in Tianjin. This plant is Company's first high-technology production plant in China and is devoted to the assembly of nacelles for Gamesa G5X-850 kW wind turbines, with an annual production capacity of 700MW. The factory is the first stage of Gamesa's Strategic Plan, which pursues the promotion and development of renewable energies in China.
