Dokie Wind Energy Inc. has announced that it has received provincial environmental certification which allows it to build a proposed 300MW wind energy project on Dokie Ridge in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in British Columbia.

The certification is a key requirement for building its previously announced 180MW wind energy project which was awarded a 20-year, fixed-price electricity purchase agreement with BC Hydro on July 27. The environmental assessment concluded that the Dokie project would have no significant adverse environmental, social or health effects on the surrounding area. In addition, the environmental assessment certification will allow Dokie to obtain the necessary provincial approvals and leases.
