Visser & Smit Hanab bv has signed a contract with DONG Energy A/S for the installation and burial of 91 inter turbine cables for the Horns Rev 2 offshore wind farm in Denmark.
The Horns Rev 2 wind farm is situated offshore Esbjerg and consists of 91 turbines and an offshore transformer platform. The execution of the project is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2008 and completion is expected in 2009. The project shall be performed by the offshore cable installation business unit of Visser & Smit Hanab, Volker Stevin Marine Contracting, in joint venture with Global Marine Systems Ltd as part of their agreement to cooperate in renewable projects.
