REpower Systems AG and Energiekontor AG have signed an agreement about the installation of 18 offshore wind energy turbines of the REpower 5M type for the German „Nordergründe" offshore wind farm.
The total rated power will hence be 90MW. The offshore wind farm project is to be realised within the 12 sea mile zone at the river mouth of the Weser, north of Wilhelmshaven. The 18 turbines are to be manufactured in the new REpower assembly factory in Bremerhaven, the delivery is planned during the time period between April to June 2009. The offshore installation is scheduled to take place in the spring and summer of the same year. The investment volume including foundation, offshore transformer station and cabling of the wind farm will comprise more than € 300 million.
