The contract has been awarded to EDP Renewables for nearly 160 MW of renewable capacity by the Gestore Servizi Energetici (GSE), the Italian institution responsible for the promotion and development of renewable energy sources in the country.
This contract has been granted for 20 years for four projects located in the Puglia region, in Southern Italy, that are expected to be in operation by 2024. 70% are wind projects and 30% are solar projects. EDP Renewables' capacity secured in this auction represents 43% of the total capacity awarded by all players.
