The new E-175 EP5 has a rotor diameter of 175 metres and a nominal power of 6MW. The WEC is designed for low to medium wind sites (IEC wind class S).
The E-175 EP5 features a direct drive and a permanent magnet generator. The turbine also features an E-nacelle with built-in electrical systems. The blades measure 86 metre and hub heights are available up to 163 metres. The prototype installation is planned for 2023/24 and the start of series production for 2024.
