The Port of Hanstholm has taken the first step towards becoming Europe's first CO2-neutral fishing port. This ambition has been cemented in a letter of intent that the Port of Hanstholm has signed with the Danish developer of renewable energy, European Energy.At the Port of Hanstholm, there is a prospect of rich activity on the 130,000 m2 large area, which a large-scale expansion over recent years has added to the harbor. The goal is to transform most of the large area into a local energy community, Hanstholm Energifællskab. In addition to solar and wind energy plants, the company wish to establish a Power-to-X plant to produce e-methanol and hydrogen at the Port of Hanstholm.
