Webinar: New, innovative uses of lidar in wind energyJoin us for Leosphere's (a Vaisala company) second annual end-of-year webinar where we’ll describe emerging use cases for lidar in wind energy. Researchers, scientists and developers continue to find new, innovative ways to leverage these remarkably versatile remote sensing solutions.

Now, through strategic partnerships with industry leaders and wind energy consultants, you can use WindCube measurements in even more complex terrains using proven Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Our partners can also assess the final measurement uncertainty after correction to achieve secured, bankable wind data.

Equinor and IFP Energies nouvelles will present results of a collaborative project performed at the Hywind Scotland floating wind farm. Leosphere, a Vaisala company, will also talk about leveraging Complex Terrain Error Predictor, an in-house advanced experimental tool, to determine the type of modeling tools possibly needed to support wind lidar in complex terrain.

Stay tuned as another extremely innovative topic and speaker may join us!  The opportunities are far reaching and we’ve only just begun to leverage the promise of lidar.

When: December 16, 2021: 10AM EST / 3PM GMT

During the webinar, you’ll hear from:
Andrew Black , Research and Application Engineer, Leosphere, a Vaisala company
Fabrice Guillemin, Wind Turbines Control Project Manager, IFP Energies nouvelles
Camille Dubreuil-Boisclair, Senior Researcher, Offshore Wind Energy, Equinor

Who should attend: Wind energy researchers, developers and operators; anyone who wants to learn more about innovative new approaches to leveraging lidar
