The Belgian government will launch a competitive tender for the development of the Princess Elisabeth offshore wind zone in the Belgian part of the North Sea.
 
The Princess Elisabeth zone consists of three areas: Noordhinder North, Noordhinder South and Fairybank. The capacity of the offshore wind farm zone will be between 3.15GW and 3.5GW and the wind farms will be connected to the grid via an energy island which will be developed 3km of the Belgian coast.
