Iberdrola and Vestas have signed a contract to supply 50 units of the offshore wind turbine V174-9.5 MW for the Baltic Eagle project situated in German waters 40 km west of Bornholm in the Baltic Sea. All 50 turbines will in 2024 be pre-assembled and installed out of Port of Roenne.

Port of Roenne is Bornholm’s only commercial port, with ferry routes to Sweden, Denmark, and Germany. In 2020-21 the installation of Kriegers Flak, Denmark’s largest offshore wind farm, was done out of Roenne. Next year, the German project Arcadis Ost will use the port facilities before, in 2024, the installation of the Baltic Eagle project.
