Samsung Heavy Industries has unveiled an offshore wind floater targeting the renewable energy markets in South Korea and abroad.The Tri-Star Float, which can host a 9.5MW wind turbine, has received an approval in principle from DNV. Samsung started the floater’s development in October 2020 and succeeded the floating water tank model test at Korea Research Institute of Ships & Ocean Engineering (KRISO) in March this year.
