Siemens Gamesa has signed a deal in Sweden with renewable energy developer Baywa r.e. for a 62MW wind farm close to the city of Växjö in the south of the country.

The contract, signed in the second quarter of the fiscal year, will see the supply of 10 of Siemens Gamesa 5.X turbines, with a flexible power rating to 6.2MW. These will be installed at the Furuby wind farm located in forested land to the south of Sweden. The turbines will have a hub height of 135 meters, with a 220-meter tip height. The wind farm is due for installation in 2022 and will cover a 25-year service agreement with Siemens Gamesa.
