RWE Supply & Trading and Ineos have entered into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). Under the terms of the ten-year agreement set to begin in 2021, Ineos will purchase 198 gigawatthours of green electricity per year from RWE, which will be generated by the Northwester 2 wind farm in the Belgian North Sea.
The wind farm is located off the coast of Zeebrugge and is operated by the Belgian company Parkwind. The PPA represents around 25% of the electricity generated by Northwester 2. The 219MW Northwester 2 offshore wind farm consists of 23 turbines, each with a capacity of up to 9.5MW.
