Waves Group has announce it has been awarded the Marine Warranty Surveyor (MWS) contract for Vattenfall’s Hollandse Kust Zuid offshore wind farm. The project consists of 4 sites with a total generating capacity of 1.5GW.
The company will provide MWS services for all phases of the project which includes, the installation of foundations, turbines, and array cables. The contract commenced in Q2 2020 and will continue through the WTG installation phase to Q2 2023.
The wind farm will have 140 wind turbine generators which will be connected to two 700MW offshore substations operated by Dutch TSO Tennet – HKZ Alpha and HKZ Beta. Hollandse Kust Zuid is located between 18-36 km off the Dutch west coast within the North Sea. All operation and maintenance activities for the wind farm will be carried out from Vattenfall’s new service facility in the port of IJmuiden, the Netherlands.
