Swancor Renewable Energy and Taiwan’s Metal Industries Research & Development Centre (MIRDC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the development of floating offshore wind in Taiwan.

Under the MOU, the two parties will cooperate on advancing the deployment of floating wind technology in Taiwanese waters and supporting the development of a local supply chain for floating wind. In September Swancor Renewable Energy announced its plan to develop the 4.4GW Formosa 4 offshore wind project off the Miaoli County in Taiwan, for which both bottom-fixed and floating foundations are under consideration.
