The Danish Energy Agency has granted Energinet permission to carry out preliminary studies at sea for the Hesselø Offshore Wind Farm. The permit is valid from 1 October 2020 to 1 April 2022.
 
The permit applies to surveys for the following areas at sea:
  • location of the offshore wind farm itself
  • the two possible corridors for the cables to connect the wind farm to the grid onshore
  • Plus the surrounding area ofthe two aforementioned areas. The larger area is subject to marine biological studies.
Hesselø Offshore Wind Farm will have a capacity of between 800-1,200 MW and must be completed by 2027 at the latest. It is expected that bidders are able to submit their bids in 2022.
