Vestas has secured an order for an undisclosed project and customer in China that includes the supply of 30 V155-3.3MW wind turbines, as well as a 5-year service agreement.
Further the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) has placed a 252MW order, including a three-year service agreement, with Vestas for the Gulf of Suez 1 wind project in Gulf of Suez, Egypt. Vestas will supply and install 70 V105-3.45MW wind turbines in 3.6 MW power mode. Vestas will also manage the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) side of the project, which includes related civil and electrical works and the substation for the connection to the national grid. The Gulf of Suez 1 wind project is planned to be fully operational in 2023.
Vestas has also been awarded a 252MW order for five wind energy projects in Russia from WEDF (Wind Energy Development Fund), a joint investment fund created on a parity basis by PJSC Fortum and JSC Rusnano. Located in the Volgograd and Astrakhan region, the projects will consist of V126-4.2 MW wind turbines combined with 87m towers. Deliveries are expected to begin in the third of 2021 and commissioning start is planned for the fourth quarter of 2021.
Vestas has also secured a 54MW order for the GreenLab Skive project from Eurowind Energy. The GreenLab project, located in Mid Jutland, Denmark is a sustainable energy park and research facility that generates renewable energy from multiple sources such as wind, solar and biogas. Vestas will supply one V126-3.45MW turbine delivered in 3.6MW power mode and 12 V136-4.2MW turbines. The contract includes a 20 year service agreement and deliveries and commissioning are expected to begin in the second quarter of 2022.
Mainstream Renewable Power has placed an order for the 109 MW Ckani wind park, to be located in the Antofagasta region, in Chile. The contract includes the supply and installation of 26 V150-4.2 MW wind turbines, as well as a service agreement for the operation and maintenance of the wind park over the next 20 years. The Ckani wind park is expected to reach commercial operation in 2021.
Further Vestas has received an 22MW order of 2 and 4MW platform turbine components that qualify for the 60 percent PTC value from an undisclosed customer. These components will enable future US wind energy projects that complete construction by the end of 2024.
