The governments of Estonia and Latvia have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop together an offshore wind farm.
The countries will now first carry out the necessary studies like environmental impact assessment after which the countries will hold an auction for the development of the wind farm. Estonia and Latvia will split the costs and income of the project equally. The size of the planned offshore wind farm will be up to 1,000MW.
