Hexicon, a developer of floating wind farm designs and projects, has developed software that estimates the yield output of wind farms benefiting from multi-turbine floating platforms.The toolkit provides a quantified comparison between any conventional single turbine wind farm design in use today and a twin turbine design within the same area. Last year DNV GL has validated the methodology used in the software and has confirmed the claim that increased installed capacity in a given seabed area can be achieved with the deployment of twin turbine platforms.
