GE Renewable energy received orders for the amount of US$ 5016 million in the third quarter of 2019 (Q3). GE sold onshore wind turbines with a total capacity of 3413MW in Q3. Total revenue was US$ 4425 million and the operational profit was minus US$ 98 million in Q3.
 
In 3Q’19, the company has booked orders for 120 units of the Cypress turbine. Key deals included:
  • An order to supply 46 wind turbines to the 244 MW Bango wind farm, the company’s first Cypress-equipped wind farm in Australia.
  • A contract to deliver 33 Cypress turbines and a 25-year Full Services Agreement for 175 MW onshore wind farm in Sweden that will sell power to Google —via a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) —to power Google’s data centers in the region with renewable energy.
  • Two projects in Turkey totalling 214 MW. GE will produce the Cypress’ two-piece blades at its manufacturing site in Bergama, Izmir, Turkey. Both projects include 10-year full service agreements.
In Q3 GE was selected as the preferred turbine supplier for the 3.6GW Dogger Bank offshore wind farm. The project is a joint venture between Equinor and SSE Renewables. GE is also chosen by Ørsted as the preferred turbine supplier for two of its U.S. offshore wind farms with a combined capacity of over 1.2GW.

In Q3 international orders at $2,819M are up 94% versus prior year, with strong growth in Australia, the Middle East, and Europe. The company also signed an agreement with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) to provide technology and services capabilities to power the 113 MW Monegros onshore wind portfolio in the Aragon region of Spain.
 
Onshore core services were up 11% versus prior year, with growth in North America and Europe.
