Ilmatar Energy has started constructing of the 211MW Piiparinmäki wind farm in the areas of Pyhäntä municipality and Kajaani, Finland. Google will purchase approximately 60% of the energy produced by Piiparinmäki wind farm to supply its Hamina data center.
Ilmatar Energy will build the wind farm, while its technical and commercial operation will be managed by Ilmatar Service. The project is financed by Glennmont Partners. Ilmatar bought the project rights to Piiparinmäki from Metsähallitus in June 2018.
