Global Renewables Shipbrokers (GRS) has been awarded a contract for procurement consulting services for transport and installation of the Yunlin wind farm.
On behalf of the project developer, GRS is to take on the task of selecting and contracting all service providers for the transport of foundations from Europe to Taiwan as well as the subsequent efficient installation at sea. The task involves a total of 80 monopile foundations partly weighing 1,800 tons and more, and 80 transition pieces that are required for the construction of the Yunlin wind farm. The Yunlin offshore wind farm will be set up eight kilometers off Taiwan’s west coast and will have a total capacity of 640MW. Project developer is the German company wpd AG. Construction is scheduled to start in March 2020. GRS has also established its first office in the region of the Taiwanese capital Taipei in September 2019.
