Vestas has completed the installation of the first V116-2.0 MW prototype at the Høvsøre test site in Western Jutland, Denmark.
The V116-2.0 MW features 57 metres blades and has a swept area of 10,568 m2 and is developed for medium- and low-wind sites. The gearbox has two planetary stages and one helical stage. The turbine is available in different hub height depending on specific site conditions.
