wpd has won a contract in Spain's current tender for renewable energies. The company will implement more than 170MW on the Montes Torozos plateau, by the end of 2019.
Project development will be carried out by the subsidiary company wpd Development Renovables SL, which is located close to the project location in Valladolid in Castilla y León. Spain's current tender for renewable energies ended on 26 July and covered a total of more than 5GW. Within the call for tenders spanning different technologies wind power accounted for 1,128MW. The tender was already the second this year, in May wind energy received over 99 per cent of the total 3.000MW.
