On 1 January 2006 Econnect formed two new companies to deliver increasing value to the growing renewable energy industry, Econnect Consulting Ltd and Econnect Ventures Ltd.
The first will focus on advice and services to renewable energy developers and generators, saving time and costs both in the design and implementation of grid connection contracts and in the delivery and commissioning of plant and equipment. Econnect Ventures Ltd will commercialise Econnect’s growing portfolio of products and solutions for the cost-effective integration of renewables and grids. Econnect Construction Ltd, which started operations in February 2005 and has already successfully completed 87MW of renewable energy projects in UK and Ireland, with more on the way, remains unchanged. Econnect Ltd has now become Econnect Group Ltd, which will be the holding company for all Econnect companies operating in the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.
