Venterra Geoscience has secured a recent contract to evaluate metocean data collection requirements for facilitating offshore wind farm development along Canada's Atlantic Coast.
Administered through the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC), the Canadian government oversees regional assessments of offshore wind in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, and Labrador. Venterra Geoscience will consolidate existing metocean data, pinpoint critical gaps, and propose enhanced data collection methodologies. This initiative aims to comprehensively outline all metocean data necessary to advance offshore wind development in Atlantic Canada. The Venterra Geoscience team will assess regions with immediate development potential, particularly in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, and Labrador, while also considering long-term data requirements across the entire Atlantic region.
