Construction is now under way on the 28MW Garden Wind Farm featuring Gamesa Technology Corp.’s G97 2.0MW Class IIIA model, which was introduced to the US market in 2011.
Located on the Garden Peninsula, this project is Gamesa’s first in Michigan. Heritage Sustainable Energy will develop and own the project, which features 14 turbines on 90-meter towers in Garden Township, Delta County. Project development began in March 2011, and the turbine contract was signed at the end of the year. The wind farm is scheduled to be completed and online by September 2012. Detroit Edison and Consumers Energy will purchase the offtake.
