TLP and SS modelled in OrcaFlex. The mooring systems have been omitted for visualisation purposes but correspond to standard arrangementsTadek has completed a study assessing the performance of Tension Leg Platforms (TLP) in comparison to Semi-Submersible alternatives for Floating Offshore Wind Turbines (FOWT).

Commissioned by Marine Power Systems (MPS), the report offers detailed analysis across various aspects including platform sizing, assembly and fabrication arrangements, port operations, towing and stability, mooring and cable installations, and operational performance. Additionally, the report evaluates the advantages and disadvantages of both Semi-Submersible platforms and MPS' PelaFlex TLP system throughout different operational stages. Highlighting the benefits of PelaFlex, the report emphasizes its smaller footprint and improved stability post-installation. It also suggests options for further streamlining the installation process. Conclusively, the report indicates that PelaFlex has the potential to emerge as a highly effective solution, providing enhanced performance and efficiency across diverse project scenarios. Marine Power Systems' TLP technology, PelaFlex, received a Statement of Feasibility from the independent certification body, DNV, in September 2023, following a rigorous certification process.
