MHI Vestas Offshore Wind has constructed and installed two V164-8.0MW wind turbines for European Energy A/S acting in a joint venture with a local partner. The installation are only the second and third turbines of the V164-8.0 MW to be commissioned.
The turbines have been installed on the Danish west coast just south of the city of Esbjerg. The turbines have a rotor diameter of 164 metres and a maximum height of 200 metres from the foundation to the blade tip. The Måde project forms part of a test programme that enables MHI Vestas Offshore Wind to test and further enhance the turbines in an offshore-like environment due to the location of the turbines on the shore of the North Sea.
