Make has examined ZF's decision to acquire Bosch Rexroth’s industrial gears and wind turbine gearbox segment. The new entity will consolidate footprint redundancy in Europe while maximizing its reach in China, resulting in a more competitive cost structure.
The acquisition strengthens ZF, allowing it to better compete against Winergy and NGC while capitalizing on offshore opportunities. Winergy will face more competition from the new ZF/Bosch entity for the supply of Vestas V112 and Senvion 6MW-152 gearboxes.
