AWEC installs wind turbines in Nova Scotia Print E-mail
Tuesday, 14 November 2006
Americas Wind Energy Corporation (AWEC) announced the installation of the AWE 54-900 wind turbine, the first of two planned near Springhill in the Province of Nova Scotia (NS), Canada.

The second wind turbine will be installed later this month (November 2006) near Digby, NS. As a virtual manufacturer, AWEC will subcontract the components of its wind turbines to qualified manufacturers and manufacturing partners to achieve the best in quality at the lowest cost. AWEC will maintain strict quality assurance programs and quality control procedures for subcontractors and partners. The developer of the windfarm is Vector Energy Inc. of Ottawa, which is in the process of being acquired by Canadian Hydro Developers.
