MHI receives first order for 2.4MW wind turbine Print E-mail
Friday, 03 November 2006
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) has received a bulk order for 42 units of the MWT92/2.4 with a 2.4MW rated output, from PPM Energy, Inc.

The order was received through Mitsubishi Power Systems Americas, Inc. (MPSA), MHI's power systems operation base in the U.S. It marks the world's first order for the MWT92/2.4. For the wind turbines to be used in PPM Energy's new project, MHI will manufacture the nacelles, the main structural components. MPSA will procure turbine blades and wind turbine towers from VienTek, LLC and Bergen Southwest Steel, respectively. Installation and civil engineering work at the site will be performed by local companies. The wind farm is scheduled to go on-stream by the end of 2008.
