Suzlon secures Latin America order Print E-mail
Monday, 30 October 2006
Suzlon Energy Limited broke new ground with its first order in South America.

The major order from Brazilian energy company - SIIF Energies do Brasil Ltda (SIIF) SIIF, owned by the Spain-based Jantus Ltda, has spent over five years developing a portfolio of projects in the highly attractive wind area of the North East of Brazil. The company is an active player on the renewable energy stage with projects underway and under development in bio-mass and in carbon trading, in addition to wind. The 225MW order, comprising 107 units of the Suzlon S88 – 2.1 MW turbine for installations in six projects, is poised to double Brazil’s current installed capacity of 200 MW. Deliveries are set to commence in Q1 2007-08, with the full order being installed and commissioned over a period of 18 months.
