Wind energy project scaled back Print E-mail
Tuesday, 26 September 2006
A wind farm proposed for Sheffield and Sutton (USA) is being scaled back from 26 turbines to 16, the developers announced.

The company, UPC Vermont Wind, had run into opposition to the wind farm from the administration of Governor Jim Douglas. State energy director Rob Ide last month described the project as too large and visually intrusive. The smaller project announced will provide 40MW of power rather than the 52MW originally planned.
