Scotland rejects windfarm in Abercairny Print E-mail
Thursday, 14 September 2006
In January 2004 Catamount Energy Ltd applied for consent under Section 36 of the Electricity Act 1989 to construct a wind farm at Abercairny near Crieff and Gilmerton in the local authority area of Perth and Kinross.

The development was to comprise 24 turbines and would have had a generating capacity of 66 MW. On 8 September 2006, following a comprehensive consultation process and public inquiry, the Scottish Ministers refused this application. A copy of the decision letter outlining the reasons for this determination is available.
