Dong buys the rights to Swedish wind energy Print E-mail
Monday, 11 September 2006
Dong Energy has signed a share purchase agreement under which they will buy 100 per cent of the shares in the project company Storrun Vindkraft AB, which holds the construction rights for a 20MW wind farm project in Sweden.

The project is situated approximately 150 km north-west of Östersund, in Krokom Municipality, Jämtland. According to Dong, all the official approvals and building permits are in place, but the project framework needs optimising before an investment decision can be taken in mid-2007. The project will finally get underway at the end of 2008 and will cost over DKK 300 million (€ 40 million). The previous owner of the project company was Borevind AB, a quoted investment company within sustainable energy. Borevind retains an option to buy back 20 per cent of the project, and will continue to assist DONG with the project on a consultancy basis.
